I wonder who has been getting the most out of having a pool this season?

What a bad influence Heather is on Mary's dogs and my dog! She lectured them at the table on the fine art of begging and the importance of timing. On the bright side, we finally have documented proof that Heather DOES in fact know how to cook. However, we all only ate what Mary brought to be on the safe side......Note to dogs, see where listening to Heather lands you? DOGGIE PRISON!!!

Bike ride 8.19.06 to Newport! Jason and I met up with Deb, Glenn, Henry,Donna, Steve and Jen starting out at 11 am Satuardy morning and took the scenic ocean/mansion drive by tour. Sadly, riding my own bike does not allow for snapping pictures while keeping control of the bike...hahahaha! Not to mention, riding in a group you can not always just "pull over" when something catches your eye. :-) But, we all know how great a ride it was and at least I caught some pictures of the great people we rode with. THAT is what really makes the ride!

You're sick of hanging around and you'd like to travel
Tired of travel, you want to settle down
I guess they can't revoke your soul for trying
Get out of the door - light out and look all around

Sometimes the light's all shining on me
Other times I can barely see
Lately it occurs to me
what a long strange trip it's been

It's the weekend of August 12th and we decided to pack up our bikes, break out the map and head out on the bikes! Here is Jason plotting the course. We are about to go visit Kelly & Dave. I would have put the pictures in here as well, but would't you know it, they were the only ones that did not come out well. Acck! Sorry K & D! Your house was gorgeous and you both looked great! :-) next trip I promise to have learned how to focus indoor pictures better!

Here are some more pics of our trip. This was a visit long over due to a friend of mine in Ridgefield. Along the way we met some wonderful people and saw much of CT’s hidden beauty. It is amazing what you see once you decide to get off the major roads and onto the more scenic back roads of a State you thought you had seen it all in.

Here are some pictures of the area around the castle and our bike trip!! :-)

The pictures above are from us waiting for the ferry by Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam. We did visit the castle on our way back home. It’s an amazing stone castle that looks like a medieval fortress!
